The meeting between businesses and students specializing in Echatronics Engineering (MEC) of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering

Over the past two years, the Covid-19 pandemic has affected teaching in higher education institutions more or less. However, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) always tries to complete the assigned tasks well, including: focusing on training according to CDIO approach to help improve the quality of higher education and increase the connection between universities and businesses.

To supplement the accumulated knowledge and skills for students, and to improve the quality of training at bachelor's and engineer's level majoring in Mechatronics Engineering; on June 5th, 2022 at Hall G3 of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Electrical Engineering, organized “the meeting between businesses and students specializing in Mechatronics Engineering".

In order for students to have a multi-dimensional perspective on career positions in the field of Mechatronics Engineering in today's society, the Department of Electrical Engineering has invited businesses with production and business activities in many fields, such as: General Construction Contractor; design, construction and supervision of M&E works; technical business; providing solutions for automation in factories; renewable energy projects in Vietnam, etc. They are representatives of Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company 5, Toyota Tsusho Vietnam Company Limited, Hai Anh Trading and Technologies Joint Stock Company, Tan Thanh An Technology and Trading Investment Joint Stock Company, Dien Sang Construction Service and Trading Company Limited.

During the exchange session between representatives of enterprises and all students majoring in MEC, the students raised many questions about the prospects of the electromechanical industry in Vietnam, the conditions for internships at enterprises, the job positions after graduation, the remuneration when working at enterprises, the skills to be recruited after graduation, the opportunities and abilities to work in joint ventures with foreign countries, the competitiveness of female candidates, etc.

Facing the lively exchange of students, representatives of businesses enthusiastically helped MEC students understand more deeply and feel secure with their current career choice. Through enthusiastic face-to-face exchanges, business representatives also helped students with the necessary skills when preparing to graduate and enter a career.

Responding to the enthusiasm of business representatives, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Duc Thach - Dean of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Dr. Nguyen Duc Bac - Head of Department of Electrical Engineering sincerely thanked businesses, teachers and students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering for taking the time to come to the exchange. Through this exchange, the students have found that in addition to professional knowledge, it is necessary to supplement their own life skills, practical skills and foreign language skills to create favorable conditions for their development in the international integration environment.

With the trend of teaching and learning according to CDIO approach and international accreditation standards, taking students to practice tours at enterprises organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has helped to increase the connection between businesses with students. Moreover, it has helped students to gain practical experiences and increase their chances of finding their favorite job after graduation.
